Anti-religion atheist= An atheist who hates religion.

Bear in mind this anti religion atheist is pretending to be christian.

2) Also what if he was not pretending to be Christian and openly anti-religion? Do you think it would still work?

What obsticales would each scenario face?

Why would an atheist pretend to be pious when he is already philosophically opposed to it?

It’s a misunderstanding. He was a nazarite, which means "loner". He was jesus the loner.

Described in Numbers 6.

Jesus died so that everyone’s sins could be forgiven. He knew he would ressurect in a few days anyway.

If a firefighter sacrificed his life for two unconcious people in a building, and a few big tag appliances knowing that he would die and never come back to life, unknowing what his fate would be; would this mean he made a greater sacrifice than jesus?

Indeed. At least this way we would have the body of the firefighter and know he truly existed. Can’t really say the same about Jesus….

John 21:25: Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

The clear implication is that many of jesus actions and teachings were not written down in the gospels, even though they were witnessed or spoken privately to the disciples. How do we know about these teachings? Were they lost, or do we have access to them?

They were passed down to us thru the teaching of the Church, by Apostolic succession. The gnostics had nothing to do with it. Pax Christi

When jesus performed the miracles of multiplying bread and fish twice in the Bible, did he create new matter into the Universe, or just converted existing matter in the Universe into the bread and fish. Also, would the gravity of the earth and the Universe have changed if Jesus created new matter in the Universe?

This is something I’ve half wondered about before. How exactly did these miracles, and others, happen? Physically speaking, how?

As the disciples were giving out bread, at what point did the new bread appear? Did it even "appear"?

It’s an unsatisfying answer, I know, but ultimately the Bible does not say so we do not know. They were miracles, and so of course the natural ‘laws’ of physics that we know were obviously not ‘followed’ at that specific time (that’s why it was a miracle).

I’m in Pennsylvania and looking for a new church. There is an evangelical and baptist church near me. I’m going to check them both out, but was wondering what the main differences are. Thanks.

Most Baptist churches are "evangelical" meaning that they are committed to telling other people the good news about the Lord Jesus Christ.

As to your area, it all depends upon what type of "evangelical" church it is. If it’s a non-denominational church then they all vary and you would have to check their web site or go visit them.

The Evangelical Church is a movement of "Harvest-focused, Holiness-fueled" churches committed to establishing healthy multiplying churches that proclaim the Gospel of free and full salvation from all sin for all people. It is our intent to fulfill the Great Commission of jesus Christ to make disciples of all nations..

What is the difference between charity and love?

Posted by admin On August - 2 - 2010

So I think charity is more of love towards mankind, while love is applicable to anyone. Charity can be a characteristic (he is charitable). Also, charity is more commonly spoken of with regard to action rather than just emotion.

So, can anyone give me a solid answer or maybe a more in-depth definition of both?

Charity is described perfectly below:

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; eareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.Charity never faileth:
1 Cor 13:4-8

Love is charity, but is simply meant as "care" or "caring for"; it is to care for the other´s welfare before our own; which is exactly what consists of charity. In its truest sense, charity which is love is all what the Lord jesus Christ consists of, and in plain talk, it is being moved with compassion.

I’ve won a small amount of money so plug your favourite nature charity and I will donate to the organisation or cause I deem most worthy.

I’m just going to say here that you ought to think globally…but act locally. You will have a local land care group. Or some Marine Conservation mob…or a forest conservation group, a Catchment management lot. Someone there is doing a crapload of hard slog trying to make your corner of the world better. They will be run almost entirely by volunteers. They will have few resources and the injection of a £1,000 into their coffers would make the purchase of an essential piece of software to keep track of projects or the funding of a frog counting study, or the preservation of a few old Oak trees in a city park possible.

In other words it would make a fecking DIFFERENCE to them. And you’d see that. You could work with them on it in fact. Not just write a cheque but actually help ACHIEVE something.

Greenpeace and WWF and all those organisations are great…don’t get me wrong. But "Green" as in Green Politics is drawn from the German word "Grun"…meaning "Grass Roots". Go look in your own little corner of the world. If we all did that it would be a better planet..

How do Christian and Pantheistic views of the afterlife differ? How are they similar?

christians view the after life as you either go to heaven, hell, and in some cases even purgatory. The cool thing about Pantheists is that there is no set belief of an after life. Some Pantheists believe in joining with the divine, non-existence, or even reincarnation. Since the concept of hell in Pantheism is utterly rejected by most if not all, the closest to the Christian thought process would be joining the divine. Though, this is still not highly similar, it does have similar ideas to Hinduism and Taoism.

After all they are much holier than us atheists wouldn’t you agree?

If jesus decides to allow them into Heaven, sure it will be somewhat more crowded, but you would be okay with that wouldn’t you?

Perhaps you even have friends that belong to another religion — I imagine you wouldn’t want them to suffer eternal torture the same as us…

(Mark 16:16 notwithstanding)
