Let’s face it, the economy is bad right now. We don’t have all the money we’d like to donate to charity. So, do think it is better to have one charity that you support with one big donation, or do think it is better to donate lesser amounts to a variety of different charities?

It’s always nice to "spread the wealth," but if there’s a particular charity that’s near and dear to your heart … well, I see nothing wrong with supporting just one cause. It’s wonderful that you are willing to give, with (as you’ve stated) the economy as it is. I’m sure the charity you choose to support greatly appreciates your donation.

And tell me also if you know what is the teaching of Jehovah’s Witnesses about this matter?

I think JWs believe jesus is the angel of the Lord and the archangel Michael, so are these angels the same angel or different angels?

JWs = Jehovah’s Witnesses

What is the Bible saying about this matter?

Ok, Jesus did not exist Until born of Mary, Prior to the Christ, Or the end member of the Trinity was regarded and known as the Angel of the Lord, Note this

Exd 3:2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush [was] not consumed.

Notice ? Angel of the Lord ? and look at the next Verse 4
Exd 3:4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here [am] I.

So The Angel of The Lord is God

Now Read Gen 16, Note verse 16 of that Chapter

Now Read Numbers 22 ,Just what is the Angel of the Lord in that Chapter ? The Authority of The Angel of the Lord in that Chapter indicates God

Now here is a Kicker

Jdg 2:1 And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.

An Angel ? No ordinary angel here, how can an angle make a Covenant ? This is God

Read also Judges 5 and 6

Look at Judges 13:18 And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it [is] secret? Now read through to verse 22 it Say’s "And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

WOW!

Now here is some compelling evidence

Zec 3:6,7 And the angel of the LORD protested unto Joshua, saying,
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

The appearances of the angel of the Lord cease after the incarnation of Christ. Angels are mentioned numerous times in the New Testament, but “the angel of the Lord” is never mentioned in the New Testament. It is possible that appearances of the angel of the Lord were manifestations of Jesus before His incarnation. Jesus declared Himself to be existent “before Abraham” (John 8:58), so it is logical that He would be active and manifest in the world. Whatever the case, whether the angel of the Lord was a pre-incarnate appearance of Christ (Christophany) or an appearance of God the Father (theophany), it is highly likely that the phrase “the angel of the Lord” usually identifies a physical appearance of God.

All what i can say is that each time i do a kind deed to help another human being , animal or nature jesus comes to me in spirit. As an Agnostic christian thats how i understand the second coming of jesus.

Why do fundamentalist christians say that i am wrong and only they are right?

This is what the angels said to the apostles when Jesus ascended into heaven:

"After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day’s walk from the city."

Acts 1:9-12

I believe the angels were right, and it shall be exactly as they said.

In fact, this very thing was prophesied about 500 years earlier by the Prophet Zechariah. If you care to, you can read it here:

Im a Baptist myself, just really curious. From what I can tell not much at all except the Messianic Jew holds true to the festivals and traditions. And if theres not really a difference then why Baptist and not Jewish, right?

Good question…several bad answers!

There is a huge difference between the two. It’s more than just the Sabbath and the Feast Days.
As a Messianic Jew, I have recently found that there is Jewish blood in my family, I don’t follow any of the christian festivals like xmass or easter. These are totally pagan and to be avoided. I live by the Torah first and for most. Mans teachings, unless they are in line with the Torah, are just mans teachings and are useless.

The Sabbath is a vital part of it, as are the names that are used. The letter J wasn’t even invented until the 15th century! So the name of jesus can’t be the name of the Messiah.

We are different from the Jews in the sense that we don’t believe that we need to live by the Talmud and many of the other traditions of Judaism. Our congregation doesn’t have a Rabbi or a minister, we have teachers. There are many wonderful traditions that are in the Jewish community that we use in our services, but this doesn’t mean that we have a synagogue or practice Judaism like a traditional Jewish synagogue does. Does this make us wrong or right…no, just different.

And a follow up question…If you were jesus, where would you go during that time? I would kick it at Tiberius Caesar Augustus’s place drinking fine Italian wine and sleeping with beautiful Italian women. I challenge you to come up with something better.

He went to hell and released all of God’s people (read the bible).

I never thought being a Christian would be a walk in the park, but I never ever came close to anticipating the level of pain and suffering I have experienced as a Christian. It’s been constantly heart ache and pain for me. And even at that level, it’s nothing compared to what some christian missionaries and martyrs over sea’s have experienced. Thanks in advance for your answers. God bless.

Interesting..

I’m sorry it feels that way. =(
You have my sympathy.
*Hugs*.

..Personally I’m an atheist + a former Christian, but I never really had to suffer through *that* much heartbreak. (Christianity-related heartbreak, that is.) I guess it depends on WHAT exactly one believes, how much emphasis one places on things such as hell and one’s own innate "sinfulness", etc..

May I ask WHY it is that you find it so difficult?
You won’t have to answer if you don’t want to, but you got me somewhat curious, so..

What do you think about Eastern Nazarene College?

Posted by admin On February - 12 - 2010

I am a senior in high school getting ready for college. I recently got accepted to Eastern nazarene College in MA, but don’t know if I should go there. I would appreciate it if someone would

A) Give me a quick review of the school and campus life.
B) Tell me if they offer a Software Programming Major.

Thanks a bunch.

I go to ENC for youth group. :D

It’s about 20 minutes away from Boston. There are many talented people at ENC, and their population is around 1,075 students. ENC is very successful in getting their students the proper education they need. The faculty of ENC are very supportive of all of their students. Students are encouraged to travel and explore their course outside of the school as well. ENC is one of the best christian colleges you could ever imagine going to. The campus is absolutely beautiful.

I know that they offer computer engineering, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they offer software programming as well.

If you want any more information about the school, I recommend calling this number: 1-800-88-ENC-88 . They will provide you with all of the information you need.

I hope you make the right choice and choose ENC as your school!

A Charlotte nonprofit organization is looking for volunteers to help in the office.

The first thing you’ll want to do is create position descriptions - the days and hours your volunteers are needed, and what, specifically, you need the volunteers to do. This way, your volunteers know exactly what’s expected of them.

Next, I would recommend checking with your local volunteer center and send them a copy of the position description.

I would also look at recruiting by speaking to various social organizations, churches, etc. outlining what you need and when you need it. Following this, ask people you’ve spoken directly to to help you. Amazing how people respond when you just ask.

Good luck!

Should new members in a baptist church sign a pact?

Posted by admin On February - 11 - 2010

Is a new member in a Baptist Church required to individually sign a pact? Most Baptist Churches have a pact but do they require their members to sign?

I am a Baptist, saved and baptist in the church I still attend. We don’t require a new member to sign a pact, only requirement to join is that the person be a born-again believer, baptized as a Baptist. No signing anything.

I just asked about why chairs in christian churches are so uncomfortable and most answers seemed to suggest they have been designed this way to make people sit up and pay attention to the dogma being provided by the church leader and not fall asleep. This sounds plausible and even Christians themselves answered this way, but of course, this means that the dogma itself is boring and sleep inducing, right? So if it’s boring and sleep inducing then exposure to it is a form of suffering right? Christian dogma is something that Christians force themselves to endure like the dentists drill?

I’ve actually never considered this. It’s an interesting angle.
