Should new members in a baptist church sign a pact?
On February - 11 - 2010
Is a new member in a Baptist Church required to individually sign a pact? Most Baptist Churches have a pact but do they require their members to sign?
I am a Baptist, saved and baptist in the church I still attend. We don’t require a new member to sign a pact, only requirement to join is that the person be a born-again believer, baptized as a Baptist. No signing anything.

Many do require a signature on some statement and agreement.
That is why I am not a Baptist.
I find it inappropriate that I would have to sign a statement saying that I agree 100% with their interpretation of the Revelation (which is a complex and controversial book) or that I swear I will never touch alcohol (I do drink occasionally). I just think that is setting people up to be hypocrites, signing something that they might not agree with to become a member.

Its not a pact,,,,,,,,,, It is an agreeance of the statement of faith
A member Gives their Oath to up hold the The statement of faith ,when they have been accepted as an official member of the Church in front of the Congregation
At least that’s how they do it in Baptist Fellowship
NOTE
What is the thumbs down for ,,,,I know this for certain ,,,
Until you you’ve been a member of a Fellowship Baptist Church you have no right giving me a thumbs down

I been in many different Baptist Churches and have yet to see one that requires their members to sign a pact.

If the entire human population of planet earth were ALL "Baptist", would this world be a better place than what it is now?
Would things such as world hunger, racism, wars… etc, greatly lessen and or come to an end?
If the answer is NO, then it says something POWERFUL regarding the "Baptist" faith.
"Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to YOU in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruits YOU will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? 17 Likewise every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit; 18 a good tree CANNOT bear worthless fruit, neither can a rotten tree produce fine fruit. 19 Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Really, then, by their fruits (what they DO) YOU will recognize those [men]."
~Matthew 7:15-20~
An important factor to consider regarding the teachings of the Baptist faith (or ANY faith which professes to be Christian) is this: Have these truly uplifted people morally? Are those who adhere to these teachings outstanding in their communities because of their honesty? Is their family life beneficially influenced by applying these teachings? Jesus at John 13:35 said that his disciples would be readily identified because of having love AMONG THEMSELVES. Is this quality OUTSTANDING among Baptist faith members worldwide?
The FACTS speak for themselves.
