Jesus died so that everyone’s sins could be forgiven. He knew he would ressurect in a few days anyway.

If a firefighter sacrificed his life for two unconcious people in a building, and a few big tag appliances knowing that he would die and never come back to life, unknowing what his fate would be; would this mean he made a greater sacrifice than jesus?

Indeed. At least this way we would have the body of the firefighter and know he truly existed. Can’t really say the same about Jesus….

John 21:25: Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

The clear implication is that many of jesus actions and teachings were not written down in the gospels, even though they were witnessed or spoken privately to the disciples. How do we know about these teachings? Were they lost, or do we have access to them?

They were passed down to us thru the teaching of the Church, by Apostolic succession. The gnostics had nothing to do with it. Pax Christi

When jesus performed the miracles of multiplying bread and fish twice in the Bible, did he create new matter into the Universe, or just converted existing matter in the Universe into the bread and fish. Also, would the gravity of the earth and the Universe have changed if Jesus created new matter in the Universe?

This is something I’ve half wondered about before. How exactly did these miracles, and others, happen? Physically speaking, how?

As the disciples were giving out bread, at what point did the new bread appear? Did it even "appear"?

It’s an unsatisfying answer, I know, but ultimately the Bible does not say so we do not know. They were miracles, and so of course the natural ‘laws’ of physics that we know were obviously not ‘followed’ at that specific time (that’s why it was a miracle).

After all they are much holier than us atheists wouldn’t you agree?

If jesus decides to allow them into Heaven, sure it will be somewhat more crowded, but you would be okay with that wouldn’t you?

Perhaps you even have friends that belong to another religion — I imagine you wouldn’t want them to suffer eternal torture the same as us…

Why is jesus‘ resurrection more important to christians than his crucifixion? Surely the main thing is Jesus sacrificing his life to atone for our sins. If anything, the resurrection diminishes the extent of this sacrifice doesn’t it?

The first death is the death of "Self" referred to by Paul when he said it is given to man once to die (to "Self") and then the judgement and Christ said that over such as have died the first death (the completion of daily "Self"-crucifixion) the second death (The Fire) has no power.

When the "Self" is dead the Being; having been reborn (John 3) and having then crucified daily the human "Self"; is resurrected from being under the "Death-Sentence" for insurrection and treason and puts on immortality and Eternal Life again.

I need a spell that will summon a jesus to do my bidding. It’s for a good cause. They say he’s the most powerful spirit to set foot on the planet, even more powerful than a Balrog, and I’d like to cure cancer. Right now, preferably. Does anyone know any good incantations that summon Jesus and manifests him in a form in which he will answer direct questions with correct answers?

Do Jehovah’s Witnesses have a personal relationship with jesus Christ since they call themselves Christians?

Those 1st century christians who were drawn towards his message of love and forgiveness were jews who drew scriptures from their torah and wrapped them around jesus . They did that because they found in jesus the message of liberation. That’s why i am drawn to jesus as well.

Why did religion hijack jesus ?

God backed up His claim by overturning the verdict of His murderers when He raised Him from the dead.

The Watchtower claims that Jesus picked the Watchtower as its mouthpiece on earth in the early 1900s, how did they determine this? Did Judge Rutherford talk to Jesus and jesus gave him the OK? Where’s the proof?

There is no good reason, Jesus set up HIS church in the book of acts. (first century AD) It has been and continues to be the religion of the Bible, and is not called jehovah’s witnesses. Its called christianity, and comes in many different forms. Baptists, Methodists, Pentacostals, Episcopals, etc… are all forms of Christianity. JW’s use things like this to twist the truth, and make people (their believers) think that they have some kind of inside knowledge of the truth. Fact is, they are a cult, and have no knowledge of what is true.
