So basically did he have to die on a cross? (prophecy aside)

More realistically if jesus would have died because of the massive beating he took prior to being put on the cross, would it matter?

Got in a donkey wreck??? Im laughing so hard at the image of that in my head that I cant even come up with a straight answer. LOLOL!!

That was good. Thanks, I needed a really excellent laugh today.

P.S. Ok, I had to go ask some Christians I know, and these are Fundie christians.

One said "It never would have happened that way."
I said "So the cross thing was a prophecy?"
He said "Well no, it’s not."
I said, "So he could have got in a donkey wreck and it still would have counted?"
He said "Well, I guess so, yes."

Second person I asked, same as the first pretty much.

So there ya go.

(still laughing)

How does luke portray Jesus in terms of his work and ministry? Give Scripture references to support your answers!

Do it yourself fool!

Anyway luke portrays jesus as the Son of Man

After all, the death of jesus was hardly unexpected because Jesus and God had been planning it for ages.
Was this just an incidental oversight?

You need to read the Bible. It was prophesied in Isaiah that he would not

9 He died being reckoned as wicked, and buried in a rich man’s tomb
Though he had done no violence, nor was deceitful as some did assume .

And tell me also if you know what is the teaching of Jehovah’s Witnesses about this matter?

I think JWs believe jesus is the angel of the Lord and the archangel Michael, so are these angels the same angel or different angels?

JWs = Jehovah’s Witnesses

What is the Bible saying about this matter?

Ok, Jesus did not exist Until born of Mary, Prior to the Christ, Or the end member of the Trinity was regarded and known as the Angel of the Lord, Note this

Exd 3:2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush [was] not consumed.

Notice ? Angel of the Lord ? and look at the next Verse 4
Exd 3:4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here [am] I.

So The Angel of The Lord is God

Now Read Gen 16, Note verse 16 of that Chapter

Now Read Numbers 22 ,Just what is the Angel of the Lord in that Chapter ? The Authority of The Angel of the Lord in that Chapter indicates God

Now here is a Kicker

Jdg 2:1 And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.

An Angel ? No ordinary angel here, how can an angle make a Covenant ? This is God

Read also Judges 5 and 6

Look at Judges 13:18 And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it [is] secret? Now read through to verse 22 it Say’s "And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

WOW!

Now here is some compelling evidence

Zec 3:6,7 And the angel of the LORD protested unto Joshua, saying,
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

The appearances of the angel of the Lord cease after the incarnation of Christ. Angels are mentioned numerous times in the New Testament, but “the angel of the Lord” is never mentioned in the New Testament. It is possible that appearances of the angel of the Lord were manifestations of Jesus before His incarnation. Jesus declared Himself to be existent “before Abraham” (John 8:58), so it is logical that He would be active and manifest in the world. Whatever the case, whether the angel of the Lord was a pre-incarnate appearance of Christ (Christophany) or an appearance of God the Father (theophany), it is highly likely that the phrase “the angel of the Lord” usually identifies a physical appearance of God.

And a follow up question…If you were jesus, where would you go during that time? I would kick it at Tiberius Caesar Augustus’s place drinking fine Italian wine and sleeping with beautiful Italian women. I challenge you to come up with something better.

He went to hell and released all of God’s people (read the bible).

Does the devil know the languages of mankind? Did jesus know all the languages of mankind and Jinn? Did the devil speak Aramaic, or Hebrew?

both understand all languages. the Bible doesnt say what language the devil spoke to Jesus. it’s a technical question

What’s the difference between Jesus and a picture of Jesus?

Posted by admin On January - 27 - 2010

Q: What’s the difference between Jesus and a picture of jesus?

A: You only need one nail to hang up a picture of Jesus.

The difference - We can see a picture of what man think he looks like but we can not see him - We must just believe that he’s there. We can cast our eyes upon a picture of him but no one really knows how he looks and those that do are not living to tell us. Why? Because his overwhelming beauty will kill you at first glace.

Jesus acts differently in these three gospels. In luke he is more the jesus people imagine today. While in Matthew he is more powerful and involved and understanding. However, in Mark he tends to be impatient with his disciples.

If anyone understands what i am trying to say then please help:)
i just need characteristics of each jesus.

Thank you

Peace be with you.

I am a Muslim but this subject interests me a lot. Part of it is because we Muslims believe that Jesus pbuh is a great prophet of God.

Here are some thoughts from a Muslim perspective which analyse Jesus pbuh as portrayed in the bible in general and in the four gospels in particular. Perhaps this might interest you.

Hope this has answered your questions.

And Allah knows best.

Wouldn’t this make their royal dynasty false being that Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross and was resurrected after three days..Wouldn’t this also contribute to them thinking that christianity is false as well? Who is right? The writings of the Holy Bible inspired by the Holy Spirit of God or those who believe that Jesus married Mary. What is there of historical or factual material to prove that jesus married? If you want to comment do so with sound reasoning or knowledge.

I believe you are referring to Prince Charles of England.

And are Mormon Christians closer than the average denomination to the real Jesus?

Since christians have been inventing their own jesuses to order for centuries, it’s next to impossible to pull out a "real Jesus."
