Christian Non Profit

The system they have now is that all the different christian cults like Catholics, Anglicans, Baptists, Pentecostals etc, all do charity work separately because, due to their arrogance in assuming only their version of Christianity is correct, they can’t work together. If they were able to put aside their differences and work together, could they do more charity work?

yes.. that would be so much better than separately, unfortunately, so many of the churches are ‘liberal’ today and get into things others don’t agree with (like abortion). and not to mention if it were all in one organization, who would run it? some are pro israel, others are not. some are openly racist (black only or white only or yellow only or….) while others accommodate all they can. IMHO the WOC is far too liberal for me to be party to.

At least we actually engage in charity instead of just sitting on the sidelines and making bigoted comments about religion,

Evangelicals are undermining the Catholic Church in many parts of the world. entire nations in south America (a former catholic stronghold) are converting to many protestant denominations.

Christianity is a dying religion and soon will retain its proper place within ancient mythology.

Once again, you show you ignorance of Christianity.

You really need to do more work and study these issues if indeed, they are meaningful to you. You’ll find many of many faith working together.

Spend less time showing you’re a half wit online, and study.

  8. KAL Said,

For one, your assumption that they all work independently is incorrect. I can think of dozens of charitable activities that represent a cross-denominational approach. For example only, my church (technically Baptist) teamed up with a non-denominational church, a Methodist church, and a Catholic-run food bank to provide relief efforts for the hurricane last year in Houston.

More importantly, I would disagree that more would be accomplished if they worked together. Having participated in "cross-functional teams" frequently at work, I know that the red-tape and planning required to even decide on goals is ridiculous (one team I worked on spent six months just trying to write a mission statement)…the coordination of different budgets, different players with different assigned tasks, and more is also overwhelming.

By pursuing charitable work independently of some organizing structure, more needs are addressed…some churches focus on feeding hungry people, some focus on counseling and/or intervention efforts, some focus on caring for orphans, some focus on disaster relief, etc… Because they don’t need to obtain wide-scale agreement on the priorities or on the way they will address those priorities, individual churches can respond much more quickly to needs and they can tailor their work to the needs of individual communities AND to the strengths and resources of the members of that church.

Didn’t the ecumenical Movement help? Playing guitars in the Catholic Mass, using "the vernacular" instead of Latin, blah blah blah…
    Charity is spiritual silliness anyway.
