Does having my articles of incorporations mean I can now say I have a nonprofit organization?

I am working on the 501 c 3 application and want to start sending out grant proposals for funding…My nonprofit is for kids can I move ahead with my project or do I have to wait for the 501 c 3 to be completed?

I don’t believe you say you are a 501C3 unless you are. However, I have seen some organizations state they have applied for non-profit status.

    Grant applications generally require you to send a copy of your 501(c)3 letter from the IRS.
